Question:

Hey Pat,

Is it true that you don't really eat that much before your concerts begin? Don't you tend to feel a bit dizzy or hungry during the show and not able to concentrate. I know the answer to that because your shows are awesome! But thought I'd just pick your brain. We love you here in Japan, you're the best.

Pat’s Answer:

it's true - i just can't imagine eating a lot and then going to play. there are some guys who can do it, who think of food as "fuel" for the gig - i am not one of them. in fact, if i want to play as good as i can, it can sometimes work for me to not eat for 2 or sometimes even 3 days. (i have not tried this for a while now). the thing with me is that if i eat, i feel fine, and if i don't eat i feel fine. i don't exactly ever really get hungry. but i could also eat about 5 times a day if there is food right in front of me. but in general, i feel better the less i eat, and no, i never get light headed because of it. by the way, i have never denied being weird.
