The news comes just months after received the NEA Jazz Master Award as well as Jazz FM’s “PRS- Music Gold Award” for lifetime achievement.
Metheny has selected 147 of his most played tunes to create a new type of Real Book, approved and gig-tested by the composer himself. The Real Book is now available in C and B Flat instruments.
The prize recognizes Pat's life-long contribution to jazz composition, performance and education.
Pat Metheny now joins the ranks of the nation’s highest honor in jazz, the NEA Jazz Masters.
