OK, cause j21 had requested and as of yet, there is a dearth of PMUG reviews, I’ll give some thoughts on the Mahaffey/St Pete show. But a couple caveats; I suck at reviews (not a musician, don’t have the musical vocabulary as some here) and also I don’t want to provide spoilers. So, having said that and after some time to reflect, I feel what sums the show up is what has already been mentioned; the music is a compilation of a lot of what Pat has done to this point. I was impressed that this was only their 5th or 6th show; I can’t imagine it getting any tighter or better but with these guys, who knows? All the guys seemed to be on top of their game and the performance felt flawless. They all seemed to enjoy playing together immensely. Bottom line, as was already said, just go. It was yet another amazing night of music by Pat and the entire group. Thanks, guys! And everyone else - enjoy the shows!

Bookmark and Share A great concert and venue ! I was down on the 6th row, left isle seat, perfect. Conclusions: a very positive evolution of the Unity Band, a great mix of solos by Pat, Chris and Ben . The music was very layered and complex at times ... You had not only 5 performers playing their different instruments but the Orchestrion instruments being a significant part. I kept looking for Giuilio, finally spotting him in the right wing of the stage contributing a lot ... Most people wouldn’t notice except for his vocals. I kept thinking, these compositions are so complex that I couldn’t easily remember the tunes. I’m glad Pat threw in a few of his signature ’tunes’ at the end. The Unity compositions require multiple listenings. And walking out I believe I saw Hman’s mom in the lobby. ... Pat’s fans are getting older, but younger in spirit!

Bookmark and Share Hi hman, too cool that your Mom dug the show at 85 years old but then again, if I make it that far, I guess I would too! Were you the folks in the middle Loge section across from me in Box 24? I noticed a sparse section around a couple folks there, is all. Linda, I did notice the front row was REAL close to the stage, guess I understand and glad you liked the Gainesville show too. I was tempted to go to that, as my son is a 1st year Gator but I could never indoctrinate him into the Pat fold, so I passed. Enjoy NY if you go. j21, no problem, as long as you’re not that polite (smiley face). Try nick@sbchecks.com and I’ll be more than happy to tell you more about the show.

Bookmark and Share Hey Willbur we found that the front row was just a wee bit toooo close. So we swapped with two guys behind us in the second row! Much better view. Didn’t make it to Jacksonville but did see them in Gainesville....where we got 3 encore tunes. Awesome! My first time at the Mahaffey, but I still wish they could have played at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater...stellar acoustics there., but the Mahaf is a beautiful venue. Now actually thinking of trying to get to the last show in NYC. Never enough, right?

Bookmark and Share Hey Willbur! I wanted to come over and say hello.I think the box seat you had was across the venue from my box seat.Anyway,I bought my 85 year old Mom to the concert,so other than watching Pat and the group,my attention was with her and making sure she was fine.By the way,my Mom really dug the show!!!

Bookmark and Share Hi j21, you are welcome. Hey hman, was hoping you would pop in and say hi, as I got there early and I even looked down for LindaV in the front row but I couldn’t find you. Linda, I’m the guy who talked to you after the local Orchestrion "movie". I recognized you from way back when. I forget if they allow personal email exchanges here (even spelled out phonetically) but I’m up for that if anyone wants. I’m private myself when it comes to inet communication but if it’s possible and anyone is interested, please let me know. And if the answer to this is obvious, I missed it and I apologize. Lastly, if anyone ever gets the chance to catch a show at the Mahaffey Theatre, do not hesitate. Pat even commented on the venue. It’s quite beautiful. Enjoy the show, folks. I’m already in deep withdrawal...

Bookmark and Share Willbur - Thanks, Amigo!! I’m sure it must’ve been an incredible night! I took yesterday off from listening to the new cd. Then came this morning, and I couldn’t take it anymore...cranked it back up to eleven to start the day! March 27th will be here in no time, but it seems a long way off from now. Thanks again!
