I was away from my computer for a while, and today was surprised that no-one has mentioned the passing of Mulgrew Miller. A truly great pianist of our day. |

If you want a real copy of "Tokyo Live" as opposed to Amazon CDR on demand it will cost you a pretty penny. I was searching for a real copy for years and was lucky enough to get one for $35 on ebay, but otherwise, used copies are very expensive. Also, get the Mosaic Select with all of that quintet’s studio recordings ASAP because Mosaic is no longer producing the Select series sets. That is my favorite set and I’m lucky to have that and "Tokyo Live".

jnyutah - can you give more information about this CD? I am not familiar with it and can’t find it on Amazon or iTunes. Is it listed under Tony Williams?

I heard him with his trio at the Village
Vanguard a few years back and they
were terrific. He had such a great touch.

Heard Mulgrew with Tony Williams in the
early 90s. Really great. My favorite is the
cd Live in Tokyo, Tony Williams and
Mulgrew's solo on the tune Ancient Eyes.
