Will attend the shoe in
Atlanta. Any folks out there
who can tell me about Variety
Playhouse, seating,
atmosphere, etc. and any
decent Hotels/Motels close to
stay at. How ’bout some dining
places as well. Appreciate any
suggestions.Thanks! |

I heard Sco play there a
number of years ago..not sure
if things have changed since,
but the atmosphere was pretty
laid back (the Playhouse is in
Little Five Points, which is
slightly akin to the Village
in NYC). You could buy
beers/drinks in the back of
the hall, and the patrons were
a little noisy, and it
sometimes got a little
distracting. One memory I
have was going upstairs to use
the restroom, and some drunk
guy was falling all over
himself. Great show though,
really liked it, and so did
the crowd! There are lots of
Hotels nearby. I always like
to stay at Embassy Suites
wherever I am (not all that
close in this case, but not
unreasonably distant), because
they have a happy hour and a
great free breakfast. There’s
an Embassy Suites at Lenox
Square, which puts you near a
MARTA Station, decent
shopping, and Buckhead
(restaurants, nightlife) just
a few blocks away.
