Just saw that a new RTF album will be coming out in a couple of weeks. "Return of the Mothership" has tha same line-up as the last tour. No Al Dimeola on it but features Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke and Lenny White with Jean Luc Ponty and Frank Gambale. I saw tha last two tours and they were both excellent so this release is on my bucket list to pick up. |

Other than playing a song ("Renaissance," from 1975’s Aurora), this is all old RTF material, albeit in some cases given a makeover. No new writing. Whether or not they continue and actually start doing some new material is tbd....but hope so, it’s a great band.

I saw this tour in Atlanta last Fall and
was actually disappointed. The sound
was awful, the performances lackluster
and they didn’t play "Romantic Warrior."
But I’ll still buy the record out of blind
loyalty...

Great news Thanks Peter. I hope JLP gets to add some of his songwriting style to the new material. After seeing them together I think he and Chick can make a great team.
