Last night, I pulled put and listened to the Marc Johnson album "The Sound of Summer Running". A great album featuring Pat and Bill Frissell on guitars together. I know some of you out there are aware of this album, but there may be a few who are not. The more I listened to it I began to realize that Pat and Bill’s solos are always seeming to inspire the other. Definitely a good listen, I always seem to pull it out as summer approaches. |

Another thing about cheesy keyboards...I know Lyle is from Wisconsin, which is a big cheese state, but I still don’t make the connection.

Stinking Bishop is still one of the rarest and hardest to find on this side of the pond...Happy Birthday Robert Moog...birth of the big fat Camembert styled keyboard.

One of my favorite albums of all time ... still sounds like fresh air. I love Marc’s tunes, especially Faith In You and the title track. -- (Btw, NewSchoolID4, when has Pat ever recorded with "cheezy" keyboards? I’m not familiar with any such albums.)

Also one of my favorites and I recognize listening to it more often in summer. Pat and Bill do great together and I love Joe Baron’s drumming especially in the title track.

"NewSchool"-You sound like a young man who likes progressive music.Check out The Larry Welk Band with Myron Floren on Accordion and Charlie Questa on reeds(mostly clarinet, but it sounds really keen).I guarantee The Larry Welk Band will knock yer diapers off!!!

Thought I would check in with the
geezers in here! I agree, this is the kind
of Metheny I love. No cheezy keyboards!
And he and Frisell are a dream together.
They should start a new project soon and
really go all out on it.

I’ve been listening to this in the car, most recently last Saturday. This one hit the spot for me.Always liked Joey Baron’s drumming.
