Bookmark and Share Hi fellow Garagers! I thought that I might just as well do some advertising here and this seemed like a good thread for that. Our trio Super-Idiots has recently released a record called "Music for Non-Idiots". You can check some live clips here (we don’t use any click tracks, by the way): youtube.com/superidiotsmusic. I came up with the concept of the group and do the arrangements and composing but as a player I’m by far the weakest link! But as Pat says, always be the worst player in any band you’re in, that’s the way you learn. I hope that some of you will take the time to check our stuff out and hopefully you’ll like our offerings!

Bookmark and Share Hilarious exchange between health scratch and Harn there... I play soprano, alto and tenor sax. I doodle about on bass guitar and play the piano really badly. I arrange for a big band, a horn section and write a few tunes too... some pop stuff, some jazz. I’d love to write a score for a film or play or something one day. Also would like to experience a proper international tour... played a few gigs in Europe but can count them on the fingers of two hands.

Bookmark and Share My pride and joy is a spectacularly made Alhambra 6-string steel string cutaway used mostly for Standard Tuning playing. An instrument that is a joy to own can not recommend them enough. Alhambra is based out of Alicante in Spain, provided me with great service and phenomenal instrument, highly recommended! Runner up a Regal Dobro in mostly open G and open D for slide. A low action early 91 Washburn Acoustic for non slide playing various open tunings. 1996 US Fender Strat Black. A Martin Backpacker to heap scorn upon for being the most uncomfortable least rewarding instrument ever designed in terms of neck and its inability to be played while seated. I use it as a canoe paddle when my kids are not getting creative with it.

I prefer play Pat or Lyle Mays or Chick Corea’s music. Now, I play "Hard Eights" by Lyle, "Have you heard" by Pat, "Eternal Child", and "got a match" by Chick. Often, I play "Stella by Starlight" by standarts are to easy now. I play Also classical’s music, like "Campanella" by Liszt and "Fantaisie- Impromptu" by Chopin...

Bookmark and Share I don`t play the drums. I hit the drums... Guess there is a wee difference between the two. But I like to put on some background music and play (hit) along. Not in the house, though. My wife wouldn`t let me keep the set in the living room (daahhh...), so I keep it at our summer house in the countryside. Not sure about the quality of my drumming, as my 6 year old daughter came in from playing in the snow outside, and told me to hush...

Bookmark and Share Domitille: I want to apologize for hijacking your thread...I consider both Dazedcat and thehague friends so I really was responding to them as a friend might...So Domitille on occasion I play guitar though I prefer to think in terms of composition - does that make me a composer? Opinions vary. You say you play piano but that opens up a broad range of possibilties... Keith Jarrett plays piano but so does your basic honky-tonk player down at the local saloon. What type of music do you play Domitille? Where are your interests? BTW: welcome to the garage it’s a pretty good place to meet some really good people.
