Was at Sculler’s Jazz Club in Boston on Friday night. Heard Kenny Werner and David Sanchez and their new band. What an excellent performance. Strong influence of cuban and brazillian colors. Cafe on various percussion, including Berimbau. Apparently this was the first real gig by this ensemble. Walked away feeling that something important is brewing here. Can’t wait until they record! |

I'm a big David Sanchez fan. There's this
one that came out with Stefon Harris, the
vibes player, called Ninety Miles. Coral
is also a good one, and Melaza is a really
good one.
