Recently I have been listening to some great music I want to mention here: Steve Coleman Harvesting, Semblances, and Affinities - Absolutely stunning Steve Coleman Mancy of Sound - This is a follow up to Harvesting, and is equally stunning. Not easy listening but very rewarding Fleet Foxes (Helplessness Blues) - Very interesting folk/rock vocal group. Great tunes and sound. Julian Lage (Gladwell)- Incredible guitarist (also with the Gary Burton New Quartet). This is a very interesting and innovative recording that I am really enjoying. Mick Goodrick/Wolfgang Muthspeil (Live at the Jazz Standard) - Just amazing guitar playing here. Dense and spacey. I believe this came out in 2010. |

I caught Julian playing with Gary at Ronnie Scotts a month ago. It’s yet another great version of Gary’s quartet but Julian’s playing is nothing short of sensational. Cheers John
