Pat has just signed with a new record label. BMG’s Modern Recordings label. Hopefully we’ll see some new music from Pat in the near future. Pat’s mentioned during countless interviews that he has a bunch of recordings ready to go, but is disappointed with the current state of distribution (streaming, etc). Hopefully this new signing will push things forward. I miss the days where Pat was on multiple recordings every year. |

thirdwind : I am trying to find more info on the recording, but it appears that Pat is not performing on the CD. From
what I can gather it features the LAGQ and another guitarist performing compositions that Pat wrote. When I went to
Pre-Order I noticed the CD is on the Nonesuch label.
The article about Pat in the December issue of Downbeat mentioned that he is trying to complete about 70 halfway
written songs and hopes to have ten good ones. He said that is his batting average. Sounds like they are for the Side-
Eye band tour and maybe a recording. Looks like Pat hasn’t been idle during the Covid-19 shutdown.

Amen, brother! Looks like it’s having results already, with the newly announced
"Road to the Sun."
I used to wise, under my breath, that Pat would finally stop touring constantly and
take time to release more recordings. I didn’t imagine COVID as the cause. Two
Metheny-led albums (not sideman projects or live albums) in 12 months makes
2020 a banner year... sorta.
