I haven’t posted here in a long time. But I saw Bruce and Pat at Wolf Trap in Vienna VA last night. They both played their asses off. Bruce was personable, relaxed, and played with an amazing amount of energy (and humor). Pat’s Unity Group received several standing O’s, most notably after ’Rise Up.’ My highlight was Bruce and Pat collaborating on ’The Moon is a Harsh Mistress,’ with Bruce taking the vocals superbly, and offering just a little piano comp under Pat’s solo. Completely different musicians in every way, but both incredible at what they do, in their own distinctive styles like no one else.

Just stunningly gorgeous and I always wanted to hear that live. In a perfect world, there would be a DVD of this tour - including that song, of course. I think I’ll go play it now. And foper, glad you enjoyed the show!!

Bookmark and Share Good point ja. I haven’t listened to ’Beyond the Missouri Sky’ in a long time and complete lost that tune. Even without knowing it might have been a tribute, it nearly made me cry anyway. Where were you sitting?

Bookmark and Share ’The Moon is a Harsh Mistress’ is an old Jimmy Webb tune. In the back of my mind as I listened (with the frogs, who didn’t seem to be listening, but rather playing along) I thought that it was a quiet tribute to Charlie Haden, since it was on ’Beyond the Missouri Sky.’

Bookmark and Share I didn’t know what song that was but with those frogs singing along that was really the most beautiful song of the night.
