interesting show on the 29th with a great deal of time interviewing Mr. Batiste and a discussion on Jazz in general and the unification and healing powers................interesting music taken to the streets in the New Orleans tradition...............Colbert stated that if Jazz is the one true American art form then why export it? Batiste states that we share it............... If Jazz is the one true American art form then as viewers and listeners, we should ask for or demand more improvisational jazz artists to appear on the networks...........cable or otherwise................That show at least left me smiling..........first Batiste..........then a progression to Metheny in Prime time television.............(if he wants to anyway) |
