Question and Answer

Any thoughts on SRV? I find his playing (especially in the live recorded performances I've seen) as compelling/awe inspiring in his genre as you are in yours.

hi mike, stevie was heavy, no doubt. i saw him live several times, and on both occasions i liked it, but didn't totally get it. later, i heard a few of his records that really killed me. and man, he really knew how to play in a trio - it was amazing how he could switch back in forth from comping to soloing so fluently and how he could fill up the space in the music so well. i wish i had had the chance to see him more often.
