movies just off the top of my head - cinema paradiso, cool hand luke, chasing amy, henry fool, western, map of the human heart, picnic, return to bountiful,schindler's list,midnight cowboy to name a few.

books off the top of my head, 100 years of solitude, aunt julia and the scriptwriter, american pastoral, what i lived for, a prayer for owen meany, cry the beloved country, the autobiography of malcom x, the peoples history of the united states, i could go on and on.
