Question:

Hi Pat. Long time fan from Bilbao. I was too young to attend your first gig in Bilbao but I remember seing the posters in town wondering who is this guy. My question is when did you consider you we really to play at a major level, sharing the stage with the greatest musicians?. In which period, record, band, etc you thought you were ready to play with anybody?

Pat’s Answer:

Hi. I have been lucky to play with great musicians since I was 13 or 14 years old on a regular basis. Being around people who can really play is such a fantastic feeling and also has a lot of responsibility attached to it. For me, it is kind of the same now as it was then; in every situation I really do my best to prepare for it. So in that sense, I still don't feel automatically "ready" for anything - each situation or context demands a certain kind of preparation and that part of it is really important for me. So, I would say it is an ongoing thing. Honestly, I don't think I will ever get to a point where I will say that I am beyond that.
