I never forget saw Pat Metheny for the first time in Brussels with the Trio Haynes & Holland.
Roy Haynes was hilarious at times with his masterfull solos. Incredible memories

Just heard about this, He was active till this end ...
On November 12, 2024, following a short illness, Haynes died at the age of 99 in Nassau County, New York, on the
South Shore of Long Island.

I never saw Roy play with Pat, but I have several records with them together. I saw Roy several times with his band
(Roy Haynes and the Fountain Of Youth Band. Every time it was a great show and Roy was incredible, even when he
was in his mid-80’s. The last three times I saw him he tap danced, not like a regular tap dancer, but like a drummer.
Roy signed one of my three drumheads.
