I have asked Pat’s management about the publication of the MoonDial songs. They answered that it is not planned.
What do you think, would you like to see transcriptions of these beautiful songs? |

Again, not really true. From a technical standpoint these songs aren’t too hard. And the baritone guitar is just a
regular guitar tuned a fourth or fifth down with the middle strings up an octave. Pat always describes it as playing a
string trio - but in the end it’s just guitar playing and for a lot of finger style guitarists these songs are not rocket
science. It’s the expression and musical value that Pat puts into them that makes the difference.

Both of those records are with one guitar. MoonDial is one guitar playing three parts. I may be wrong, but not a lot of
guitarists can pull of what Pat’s doing. Joe Pass was famous for playing like that.

No, that’s not true.
There are transcription books available for "One Quiet Night" and "What’s it all about" and the songs are quite
playable...

Based on what I have read from Pat and others about MoonDial and my very limited knowledge of playing A Baritone
Guitar, the transcriptions would have to be for three guitarists. Pat’s playing the melody, harmony and bass lines
simultaneously.
