I caught a Zoom Q & A with Wynton Marsalis put on by the Chicago Symphony Center. When the moderator asked him who some of his favorite musicians that he has performed with he mentioned Sean Mason. Wynton said his brother Branford said this young pianist "He can really play." I found a short video with Sean where he plays but also discusses his philosophy about Jazz. Google or YouTube Search, "This Charlotte student isn’t your ordinary pianist". He is in his early twenties but really has the poise and attitude of a seasoned musician. I predict he is going to be in high demand by a lot of musicians. I bet Pat has him on his radar or will soon. |
