Drove down to Monterey Jazz on Friday, to meet an old friend, but really interested in the Friday pm venue ; Christian McBride, Chick Corea and Brian Blade Trio was fantastico, as was the Jaco Pastorius memorial concert band, featuring Christian, Will Lee, Peter Erskine, Felix Pastorius and others with great videos of Jaco with his family, etc. Also an Errol Garner tribute, with Christian Sands and others. It went to midnight . Anyone else go? |
