Happened to read some pre-release reviews of 2002’s Speaking of Now recently and noticed reference to a couple of track titles I didn’t recognize. "This Just In" and "That Was The Day..." These appear to have been either renamed or replaced with "The Gathering Sky" and "On Her Way" on the actual release. The pre-release tracklist indicates "This Just In" has the same run-time as "The Gathering Sky" at 9:22, so that would seem to imply a simple name change. However "That Was The Day..." apparently clocks in at 8:24 while "On Her Way" runs 6:04, so in this case we must either be talking about a significant edit or an outright swap. Anyone aware of any material from SoN that didn’t make the final cut? |

You’re right, Marshall. I did a little more googling and it looks like "The Gathering Sky," "You" and "On Her Way" were originally known by the working titles "This Just In," "That Was The Day..." and "One." The order of material on the disc, and length of tracks are identical between the conceptual and actual song titles. Just goes to offer a little insight into Pat’s admission that naming instrumental tunes is hard work!

blisterfree--the song "You" clocks in at 8:24, not counting the "hidden intro" to On Her Way, so that might be the
missing piece you’re looking for.
