I have been restraining my contributions here, I know I tend to go on and on. But following this tour, this band, this album has been one of the great experiences of my life. That the Group has continued to get even more inspired over the course of 150 concerts is simply something that I have no words for anymore. The concert in Annapolis was once again, beyond extraordinary. How it can continue to get better and better and more and more energized as it has is utterly unexplainable to me. It almost seems superhuman at times. Please let there be documented evidence of this amazing period in Metheny’s ongoing reign as one of the greatest all time musicians. Rumors of a DVD are so welcome! (Going to try for a least one more show at the Bluenote!). |
