Last night I attended the PMUG show at the Chicago Symphony Center. It was an incredible show from start to finish (2 1/2 hours). The band was super tight and Pat really shared the spotlight with the band. Lots of great surprises and great versions of his classic songs. Truly a super star band. Since I was the only individual sponsor for the concert I got to go backstage after the show and met all of the band. They all were very nice to me and had some great conversations. They all signed the poster that was out front and I got my name in the program and a sponsor poster. I wanted to do something special this year because I will be 60, same as Pat. I told him I first saw him in 1977 when I had more and darker hair and he looks the same’ It was a night I will never forget. |

Not that I know of but would be cool to get one going.
I know he has a huge fan base in Chicago.

I agree that Pat doesn’t seem to age. I turned 60 this year. Though I don’t look as youthful as Pat, I’m glad I still respond to his music as enthusiastically as when I first heard him play around 1980 at a Telluride Jazz Festival. Is there a Pat Metheny Fan Club in the Chicago area or northern suburbs ?

Great post. Good to hear.. .we’re all in the same boat, getting older, losing hair. We’re so lucky we’ve had Pat’s
soundtrack for such a lot of our lives
