Having started an earlier thread in "Travels" about your brother Mike Metheny, I've learned you have recorded sporadically with him in the past. Could you further explain your relationship with you brother as a musician. Also, do you have plans to do a project with him as well? Thank you.

mike is probably my single most important influence - he was the one who by example showed me what it was to be a good musician, and in practice, he was the one who taught me how to read, count bars, get a sound out of an instrument as well as turning me onto to a whole world of music that i have my doubts i ever would have run across in lee's summit, mo. if it weren't for him. i also love playing with him, and do pretty regularly even now, even though it is usually just in our parents basement for jam sessions during the holidays. i did just play on one track on his new record that he is working on, and once again i was reminded how much we can phrase together. we need to do more...
