Subject: Jazz Alley Concert on Sept. 16th
Category: Inspiration
From: David Rommen (Silverdale)
Question:

Pat,

I have been a fan since my college days in NY during the mid-70’s...I have lived in the Seattle area for the past 30 years and have seen you a dozen times here...from the Secret Story concert at the Paramont in the 90’s to your recent concert at JA...I just want to thank you for all the years of your wonderful music...your music is a big part of the soundtrack of my life...Your performance with the Unity Band was, in my opinion, the best I’ve ever seen from you...the concert was even more special for me because my 90 yr old Mom passed away that morning after a long fight with Alzheimer’s...I thought about canceling but I am so glad I came to the show...and I just wanted to thank you for that music, that night...it was healing and a celebration of life...THANK YOU! I wanted to meet you that night and thank you in person...but, it wasn’t the right time...maybe next time your in town...I would love to meet you and shake your hand and personally thank you for all your music and especially, that night.

David

Pat’s Answer:

Hi David, I am sorry to hear about your mom. I am glad the music had a beneficial effect on you that night. Playing with the Unity Band night after night was one of the best things I have ever experienced. I can't say enough about how much I loved every second of that tour and recording that proceeded it. Jazz Alley was one of the few places we played that was that small over the year of touring and it was great to be in a place like that. Thanks for coming to check us out.
