In case any of you haven’t heard Christian’s new trio, it’s incredibly cool and talented with pianist Christian Sands and drummer Ulysess Owens. Saw them at Yoshi’s Oakland. Maybe in the future they’ll play some gigs with Pat .... a dream quartet , I think.

Bookmark and Share I hear they are remodeling Warfield, Mugsy, and it was a good venue even before. I remember Pat, Lyle and Steve mixing with the folks after the concert What I DON’T understand are the fan ’presale tickets’ .... So far only 2 venues available on this site yet tickets are on sale from many venues.....don’t know about Warfield but Mahaffey in St Pete have been selling them and a huge block of up front orchestra seats have been blocked off by somebody ...?? ? So I got a seat adjoining that block rather than waiting for them on Pat’s site.

Bookmark and Share I agree again Patsfan! It will be interesting to see what kind of crowd shows up for the Warfield show -although the crowd is really secondary to me. I sometimes go to the shows alone - so I can really tune in to the music and not be distracted by someone asking me questions. Although a good crowd can also enhance the experience, and I know the group gets off a good crowd as well. I thought the energy at Yoshi’s for McBride was intensely good!

Bookmark and Share Mugsy, good to meet a fan from Bay Area ( I’m from Davis). Yoshi’s needs updating and it was crowded that night. I woke up the next morning humming ’guess who’s making love’ ... And those guys are talented ! Looking forward to Feb 28 when Pat is here. Wish he’d visit Mondavi again, the acoustics are so great but the audience is ho-hum..

Bookmark and Share Hi Patsfan. I second your assessment. I was also at the show Wednesday night and thought the trio was really tight. Ulysess Owens is unbelievable - and Sands is great as well. The trio was obviously digging each other and playing off each other in a great way. The only thing I didn’t like was how Yoshi’s jammed tables together to seat more people. I guess this was decided because the trio only played one show - which is not the usual Yoshi’s thing.
