Fantastic show last night at the Regattabar in Cambridge MA. I loved teh grooves and samples. John Scofield played great as usual. One of the loudest scofield concerts I have heard (a good thing). This music demands power and intensity. He played a tele, but the sound was still the familiar scofield sound. Lots of electronics as well which added some dimension to the core sound. If you have a chance to see them, don’t miss it!

Tom, I would love to hear from or anyone else what you thought of the show. Interestingly, a lot of people in Detroit left early, expecting something else I suppose.

I have watched a few videos of this new Uber Jam Band and I have seen Sco play live maybe 10 or 12 times over the years and this is the first time I have ever seen him play a guitar other than his signature Ibanez. Videos I have seen of these recent shows he is playing a Tele. You go John!~

Saw Scofield with Bill Stewart and Steve Swallow some three weeks ago. Same line-up?

Thanks for replying, Tom. I went expecting more of the techno influence that was on the first two albums, I didn’t know there was a new album. Uri Bortnick did some samples but mostly played rhythm guitsr. Scofield played a very bluesy acid influnced electric guiar and the drummer was awesome.
FYI, John Kelman has a review of the latest album "Uberjam Deux" posted on All About Jazz.
