BBC Radio 4 has an interesting occasional series called "For One Night Only", half hour programmes presented by Paul Gambaccini which are about famous live albums. The last one in the present series has just been broadcast and it follows the making of "The Köln Concert", interviewing audience members, the promoter (Vera Brandes) and the recording engineer (Martin Wieland). It’s not yet available on the iPlayer, but the programme about BB King’s "Live at the Regal" is still there. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007x9kq |
