I was very fortunate last night to hear a new ensemble of Joel Harrison (g), Tony Hanson (bassoon), Cuong Vu (trumpet), Brian Blade (dr) and Kermit Driscoll (b) at the Jazz School in Berkeley. The night was spectacular with all new material that will be recorded next week at Fantasy Records. |

Yes! It is a project Joel Harrison is putting together. I believe all the music was written by Joel, although there may have been one or two that he didn’t write - but arranged for this group. The Jazz School is a really small venue, and I was so blown away when I heard this group was playing there. And, the tix were really inexpensive! I will let the network know when I hear that the CD is being released.

music? Sounds like somtething joel
would put together, instrument-
