Many if not most of my favorite
musicians have played with Pat, or
selected by Pat in the course of his
career. To find jazz talent, follow
Pat. To name a few Jaco, Gary B,
Christian McBride, Charlie Haden,
Marc Johnson, Brad Mehldau, Larry
Grenadier etc. In the future, who
might be candidates for Pat’s
collaborations ?? |

Also would be great to hear Pat with
Brian Blade some more. So much of
the Fellowship is right out of Pat’s
group concept. He has even said so
in print. As far as I know they have
not played together since the Kenny
Garrett days.

I’d like to see Pat play with Jeffrey Burr who is a terrific jazz guitar player in his own right. His album "Bright Blue" is outstanding really.

Truthfully I would like to see a group that Pat led with Mike Maineri and Randy Brecker on trumpet. I think a very unique recording would come out...maybe Peter Erskine or Antonio on Drums and Warren Bernhardt on Piano.

I would love to hear him with Aaron
Parks. Really a great young piano
player in the post-Mehldau sense.
Also, Gwilym Simcock for similar
reasons.

I’ll second foper’s vote on Andy McKee - I think that would be a really interesting duet. I’m completely stoked that Pat will be touring with Larry Grenadier at "small intimate settings". For me that is really something to look forward to.

I would love to see him with Tal Wilkenfeld. And it would be cool to see him do some stuff with Diana Krall. And even though they are two completely different styles of guitar, I think a duet setting with Tommy Emmanuel would be awesome, or maybe Andy McKee.
