Well known and influential producer Phil Ramone died at 72. May he rest in peace. |

Here are just a very few of the landmark albums on which Phil Ramone had a significant role: 52nd Street, Billy Joel; Still Crazy After All These Years, Paul Simon; Getz/Giberto, Stan Getz/Joao Gilberto; Ram, Paul McCartney; Blood on the Tracks, Bob Dylan; Graceland, Paul Simon; Phoebe Snow, Phoebe Snow; Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out!, The Rolling Stones; The Band, The Band; and many more with Burt Bacharach, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, etc. ... he was a giant.

press, but indeed he was 79.

One of a small handful of the very best record producers ... his list of credits is astounding. He was 79, working up til the end.
