Off to see the Brian Blade Fellowship band tomorrow (Wednesday) at Scullers in Boston. Should be great. This is a very special band. Nothing else like it!

Bookmark and Share Should have wrote in earlier. Saw the fellowship last night at Scullers. Incredible show. Brian blade was on fire playing soft and subtle one second and violently the next with occasional screams of joy! Incredible performance. We were reasl close, just a few feet from the stage, so very intimate setting. Jon Cowherd on piano was amazing. I heard they completed recording a new project but not sure when its coming out.

Bookmark and Share I’ve seen Brian 3 times now, twice with Wayne Shorter’s quartet and once with the FB. He definitely plays with a lot of feeling and emotion, very distinct style of percussion work.

Bookmark and Share Hi Tom, No, nothing since MR, but he has a new singer/songwriter AND new Fellowship Band record in the works, so keep your ears and eyes posted.

Bookmark and Share Has Brian had a new release since Mama Rosa?, which was very cool by the way. Mr Blade is a very diverse and extremely talented musician. Should be a great show.

Bookmark and Share Enjoy!Been lucky to see ’em twice in the last couple years adn they really were exceptional. Theres a new record in the works, but when is a question nobody in the Blade camp seems able to answer, but when it comes....it’ll be a smoker!

Bookmark and Share Yes, a very special group and Brian’s soulfulness is indeed also something special. Fellowship is a band that I’ve recommended to many non-jazz following friends as a jazz act they might enjoy.
