Looking forward to seeing Pat in Southern California this coming week. Almost 1 year to the day when he was here last. I’ll be the guy all geeked-up, sittin’ 2nd row @ the Santa Monica show; and Front Row @ the OCPA show !!!! Any other fans out there attending these shows? Sure hope so. Posting reviews afterwards. |

OCPA on Friday, we were treated with 3 encores! It was one of those subscription jazz events and I thought the blue hairs would bail after "Roofdogs", but they stayed the whole show! Bless Them. |

I just wanted to add, after seeing the shows in SFO and in San Diego, I am just so amazed by this group!...I don’t normally get excited about saxophones, but man can Chris play that instrument!! Pat always knows what he is doing when he brings something new to his music! And the Orchestrion piece....wow!!....just outstanding....pure genius!!! I can’t even believe how hard it must be to play this music and yet they make it seem so easy and FUN!!!......Thanks so much guys....you ARE the best!! |

Chris, please glue yourself to Pat. This is a marriage of music not to be messed with. |

I like an attentive environment from the other side of the stage. I don’t want to eat, drink or have service people constantly intruding on the sight-line. I don’t like talking or hand-holding or date-nights or cell-phones. Would you eat and talk at the ballet? ’Cause to me this is ’art’. I cherish every moment at the concerts. They deserve respect. ’Paying attention’ seems to be an issue these days. signed Keith, oops I mean crabby M-A |

One of the things I’ve come to appreciate about a PM show is the extreme demographic diversity, shall we say, of the audience. Some of it, obviously, has to do with the similarly extreme diversity of Pat’s music over the years, both within and outside of the PMG. In other respects, it might be more inherent to the particular venue, whether they offer a "concert series subscription" type of arrangement, which can bring out more of a wine and cheese crowd sometimes. Always fun to hear something like Roofdogs roll over the masses under such circumstances. A well-timed bit of edginess is always good for the heart and soul of jazz and jazz followers alike. |

It turns out the theater mistook my order and they put me in the 7:00 show. The audience was seriously lame. Nothing but clapping and some occasional cheering. So, afterward... I quickly ran and bought tickets for the 9:00, too. Now, that was a memorable show! At least 45 minutes longer. The solos were far more energized. The synth solos, always the highlight for me, were the most powerful and incredible I’ve ever heard. Just truly mindboggling! 3.5 hours of Pat and the Unity Band wasn’t even enough as I tested out the Orchestrion Blu Ray the moment I got home. To me, this is the most exciting time to be a Metheny fan with all of these new innovations and a skill built over so many years of practice and playing with legends. I couldn’t be more satisfied. |

Way to go Chuck!!Front Row. I’m a big G-Synth fan of his too! He shreds on that beast. There were 2 girls, front row, center, who didn’t like that stuff, or the fact that I was headbangin’ behind them. Awesome show! Keeps gettin’ better and better |

I’ll be at the 9:00 in Santa Monica -- sitting in the front row! I’ve been trying for years to get front row seats to see Pat. I can’t wait to hear that synth guitar up close. |
