Last night at Yoshi’s in San Francisco will be yet another memorable night. My wife, who is a fan (through me)couldn’t stop talking about the show. This band is so tight! Pat was in unbelievable form (even for him) and Chris Potter just rocked the whole night. Both Antonio and Ben did some incredible soloing as well as just keeping the rhythm going as smooth as silk. It was a good blend of mostly stuff from the CD and some all time Pat Classics.
Pat - if you ever read this - Please put out a live CD of some of these shows, and thank you so much for another great music adventure! |

Hey "dpruitt",
The next best thing to the actual Orchestrion is playing tonight at the Balboa theater in SF - 8:00PM. It is (of course) the Orchestrion Documentary.

The songs on the new album seem to really suit Chris Potter - he really hears stuff on them and there a lot of hooks in his soloes that over time become almost part of the melody of the tune. I can’t think of a sax player more suitable for Pat to work with.

I also was there Mugsy, for the 8:00 show. And my wife who can give or take Pat was really impressed. After the second song she asked “who IS that bass player?. All around great show as you stated. I missed the Orchestrion tour so Signals was a big highlight for me. What a treat for the senses! As someone who liked, but didn’t love the new CD, I loved this show!!

METHenyaddicted, I couldn’t agree more. As I have had some time to fully "digest" my Wednesday night experience, I think this was the BEST non-PMG experience I have ever had. Pat is at the top of his game - which blows me away! He just keeps getting better and better. And, I really like Ben Williams - great young bassist.

Adding Chris to the mix has made this a superlative and exciting tour. Chris and Pat need to continue their musical relationship and not stop it at one tour.
