Oh man, this bums me up in a big way. Mr. Jansch, along with John Renbourn, was a **huge** influence on my playing as a youngster. Rest in peace Mr. Jansch, rest in peace. |

m: Thanks for that, you have a talent for composing and I enjoy your playing. The New Frontier is especially very very good.

Hey "-m"--really enjoyed those pieces! Very creative stuff. I can definitely hear the English fingerstyle in your compositions along with the fretless bass bottom/electronics. I thought not only of Bert Jansch but Nick Drake, Michael Hedges and Patrick O’Hearn a bit too. Goes to show you never know the extent of everyone’s talents and connections in the garage.

Just another faceless drone slaving away in the salt mines ;-). I still like to play though: http://soundcloud.com/morgangroup

Dazedcat: About four decades ago I had a chance to talk to Jimmy Page about Bert Jansch. It was a very casual conversation as we had just finished an impromtu unplugged jam over Black Water Side. At the time I knew of Led Zep but not who the guitarist was. Anyway, Mr. Page went on, at length, of his respect and admiration for Mr. Jansch. But you’re right, royalties please ;-)

He was a great player. RIP. Jimmy Page probably still owes him unpaid royalties too.
