does anyone else out there miss the ’pat recommends’ section of this site? i know that i surely do . . . . . but we all know that pat’s the busiest guy on the planet, or one of them, and i’m sure he doesn’t have time to write so much on here, these days . . . . but he, just today, posted a tribute to roy clark, and it was so good to hear from him, here on the ole’ website . . . . his last ’pat recommends’ post was on 2/7/11, talking about dave binney, and i’ve continued to go back there periodically to see if he’s picked it up again . . . . alas, no, but it’s always great to receive his input about music, books, movies, etc. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . btw, speaking of ’recommending’ stuff, i must say that the relatively recent (new) record by the brian blade fellowship band, called ’body and shadow’, is yet another of their transcendent ’gems’.

Bookmark and Share rip Roy Clarke on the home page not in pat recommends. honestly I don’t share the same beliefs and/or opinions that Pat does so I didn’t visit that Page so much. I do see Pat very much as a person of integrity as much as a GOAT jazz guitarist/musician. I miss when he would participate in the Question and Answer forum.

Bookmark and Share Oops. Pat did mention Roy’s "amazing guitar features." I didn’t read that carefully enough. Sorry Pat & Roy.

Bookmark and Share I also miss updates in the "Pat Recommends" section. I’ve learned a good bit from Pat’s posts there, as well as from those miniatures on "We Live Here." -- Little surprised Pat didn’t mention what a really great guitar player Roy was. Many years ago I saw him do some picking on the tube, and he was incredible. He was one of those players, like Glen Campbell, who could really play some amazing six-string as well as host a variety show. -- Heard a good one the other day; might as well share it here: It’s no wonder Kim Jung-Un is incredibly frightened of the U.S. The only people from America he’s ever met in person are Dennis Rodman and Donald Trump!
