Tokeyozi should have all credits, because he discovered them: Jaga Jazzist. The only thing lacking is Pat joining them (one can always hope): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28fk5jVxE2E&feature=player_embedded

Bookmark and Share In a very similar musical vein to the Norwegians is a Swiss/French trumpeter called Erik Truffaz , whose 4tet ( their spelling not mine ) are doing the summer circuit , including a West Coast stop for the Vancouver Jazz Fest . Hard to categorise accurately ( usually a good sign ) and definitely a sound for your down time/late night listening . Their music might be described as metaphysical if I had half an idea what that meant exactly !

Bookmark and Share Once again, Hague, I saw them live and they were absolutely stunning. So, guys, if Jaga should ever perform in your city or nearby, go see.

Bookmark and Share A great Norwegian band, world famous within Norway for many years :o) They have done some exciting crossover stuff with rock bands, electronica and others. Fantastic musicians.
