Extaordinary event, even by Pat standards. Not sure I have ever seen four people so completely in command of their instruments and yet so much at one. No egos on show, that’s for sure! Also there seemed so much more atmosphere than at the last few Barbican performances. A memorable evening, and even John Frdham gave it five stars in The Guardian!! |

Great venue the hammersmith
Saw pat there in the early eighties
That was my first gig of Pats
I was at the manchester gig the night before on a mile from where i live and it was superb.
Got too admit the sound at hammy was even better.

Yep, Colin, Hammy is the natural venue for Pat, just the right size, great sound. The Barb is a bit conservatoire, not quite
edgy, but a good venue of course. Pat gigs at Hammy from the AG/Offramp days through to The Way Up and now the
UG are the stuff of legend. I remember the Festival Hall didn’t feel quite right too (We Live Here), but Shepherd’s Bush
Empire (Imaginary Day) did feel great. Maybe it’s just me; I like the older, maybe a bit shabbier venues - seems to
encourage raw emotion for some reason - but why?
